SOFOLA URGES RESIDENTS TO KEEP ENVIRONMENT TIDY AFTER SALLAH CELEBRATION AS LAWMA/PSP WILL BE GOING ABOUT TO EVACUATE WASTES.

The executive Chairman of Kosofe Local Government Hon. Afolabi Sofola once again expresses his hearty felicitation to all Kosofe Local Government Area Residents Over Eid-el-kabir festival celebration Over the weekend.

The council Boss expresses his delight at the way people wined and dined with one another in accordance to Covid-19 protocols after slauthering of ram and cow.


However Hon. Sofola wishes to inform all the Residents of Kosofe Local Government Area to keep their Environments neat and tidy by packing all the wastes in bags as LAWMA/PSP will be moving from street to street starting from this morning Monday August 3 to evacuate the bagged refuse.


The Supervisor for Environment has made necessary arrangements with the ministry of environment to undertake this project during this week.

Kindly cooperate with them and place your waste bags Infront of your houses after nicely tighting them.


And do not forget to collect your monthly waste bills.

Once again congratulations on the beautiful Eid-el-kabir celebration.

Sofola Distributes Sanwo- Olu's  Food Palliative Packs to  Tradesmen, Artisans in Kosofe Local Government In a bid to mitigate against the impact of Coronavirus pandemic on the informal sector in Lagos State, the Executive Chairman Kosofe Local Government, Hon. Afolabi Sofola ably represented by the Supervisor for Agriculture, Youth, Rural and Social Development, Hon. Oyeyemi Oyetayo assisted by CDC Chairman,. Hon. Segun Babatunde yesterday distributed food palliatives packs to members of Lagos State Council ofTradesmen and Artisans in Kosofe Local Government, undertaken by the Lagos State Government. The distribution of the food palliative packs which comprises of sacks of stable foods, packs of Noddles was distributed to the recipients at the council premises. The Executive Chairman, Hon. Afolabi Sofola showered encomium on the Lagos State Governor, Mr. Jide Sanwo-olu for the kind gestures.

FUEL SUBSIDY: HOW GOVT CAN SHOW  KINDNESS. So much debates are in the public space with respect to the Federal Government/NNPCL announcement of removal of subsidy on Premium Motor Spirit (PMS). While some welcome the idea, some condemned it - not even at this time. This idea of removal of the subsidy to the large extent will be of great advantage - provided Government can be truthful in redirecting the funds into the economy sectors that less privileged ones can benefit greatly. I may not dabble into the whole subsidy removal in this post. However, I have one advice for Government, especially, Lagos State, that everyone is currently feeling the heat of the impromptu announcement which has the tendency to affect the cost of living. I want to urge Gov. Babajide Sanwo-Olu to help cushion the effects of the increase on PMS by reducing the BRT Fair, not only that, additional BRT buses should be released into Lagos transport sector.
