LAGOS EAST BYE-ELECTION: TOKUNBO ABIRU PROMISES QUALITY REPRESENTATION

 

Ahead of the forthcoming October 31th, 2020 Senatorial and House of Assembly Bye-Elections, Kosofe Local Government in conjunction with Agboyi-Ketu, Ikosi-Isheri LCDAs, officially hosted the duo candidates of the All Progressive Congress (APC) - MR. MUHKAIL TOKUNBO ABIRU and OLUFEMI SAHEED at a Stakeholders' Meeting which was held on Friday, 18th September, 2020 at CMD Event Ground. 

The Stakeholders Meeting which recorded thousand of supporters from the APC shows the preparedness of people ahead of the poll.

APC's stalwarts, GAC Leaders, Apex Leaders, Party Leaders, LOC Members, CDCs, CDAs, Youth Leaders, Women Leaders, Ward Chairmen and All Progressive Congress (APC) Party Members in Kosofe, Ikosi-Isheri and Agboyi-Ketu Council heartily welcomed their own befitting candidates, MR. MUKHAIL TOKUNBO ABIRU and OLUFEMI SAHEED to the Stakeholders Meeting of the Lagos East. 

Present at the biggest symposium: Executive Chairman, Kosofe Local Government -Afolabi Sofola, Mayor Dele Osinowo,  Executive Chairman, Agboyi-Ketu, Mayoress Samiat Bola Bada, Executive Chairman, Ikosi--Isheri, Hon. Rotim Agunsoye (Federal House of Representative), Hon. S. O. B Agunbiade (Majority Leader of Lagos State House of Assembly Representing Ikorodu Constituency 1), Hon. Ganiyu Babatunde Okanlawan( House of Assembly Member, Kosofe Constituency 1), Princess Rebecca Ajose, Treasurer All Progressives Congress (APC), Great Monarch of Mushinland -Oba Fatai Ayinla Aileru, Alaketu of Ketu, Oba Isiaka Balogun,  Hon. Sesan Daini, Director of Media & Publicity for the campaign committee.

The entrance of the co-host, Chairman Kosofe Local Government -Afolabi Sofola trailed the crowd on a standing ovation, welcoming the great leader. 

Chairman APC Campaign Committee, Lagos East Senatorial District -Ashipa Kaoli Olusanya who addressed the gathering emphasized on the shortcomings from previous elections which recorded drastic low vote counts below 50%.

In his data analysis on Kosofe, he charged all valid voters to turn out enmasse in order to change the narrative; ”113,000, 53,000, 44,000 were the votes garnered in 2011, 2015, 2019 respectively as against registered voters of 443,364. It is about time you change the narrative, and deliver bigger margin for the party. October 31st, Let our population reflects our voting strengths.” 

According to him, APC National Leader -Sen. Bola Ahmed Tinubu totally frowns at Kosofe LG having experienced low turnout in previous elections. 

Kosofe Council boss, Hon. Sofola who also reacted to the drastic drop addressed the people on the collective task ahead as well to change the narrative. In his words; 

”The low turnout of vote from previous elections at 50% is quite discouraging and does not speak well of our Local Government. But I want to assure us this time from Kosofe, Agbiyo-Ketu and Ikosi-Isheri, we are ready to make sure all hands are out on deck to deliver the respective Local Government Areas, come October 31st. This time around, everybody should be ready to work hard to make sure APC comes victory in the forthcoming Senatorial and House of the Assembly elections”

Colourful flags of the APC warmly welcomed the man of the moment, come October 31st Senatorial Election MR. MUKHAIL TOKUNBO ABIRU who waved happily to the mammoth supporters at the pavilion. Equally, the esteemed APC candidate for Lagos State House of Assembly (Kosofe Constituency II)  -Mr. Obafemi Saheed was ably celebrated.

A minute of silence was observed on behalf of the departed soul, Late Senator under Kosofe Constituency II -Hon. Bayo Osinowo whose campaign visit was then held at the same venue. After which, the meeting was officially opened with recital of the National Anthem led by the anchor. 

Tokunbo Abiru who held firmly to his broom appreciated all for the support so far ahead of the forthcoming October 31st election. Most especially thanking the APC National Leader, Sen. Tinubu who remained a brain behind his unopposed candidacy. Therefore enumerated major focus of his coming when elected;

“I want to specially thank APC National Leader, Sen. Bola Ahmed Tunubu and every member of our great party who made it possible for me to become the official Senatorial Candidate for the forthcoming election. One of the major programs I have brought to deliver during my tenure when elected is QUALITY REPRESENTATION -this demands serious execution but I am ready to apply all the competences I applied for the past 32 years. Secondly, EDUCATION and of course, INFRASTRUCTURE.” 

”Your affirmation in September 3rd, is a vote of confidence reposed in me. I will reward your confidence in me with quality representation”;

APC Lagos East Senatorial Flagbearer, Mr. Tokunbo Abiru further reassured.

In calling for collective effort from the political ambiance of Kosofe LG, Lagos East House of Assembly candidate, Mr Obafemi Saheed canvassed the need for all to make sure APC becomes victory in the fast-approaching election; ”Entire Kosofe is 1, we are 1 now, so our figures in the forthcoming elections will be no 1 in Lagos East Senatorial Candidates” - Hon. Femi Saheed stated.
