KOSOFE LG COMMENCES PRE-SENSITIZATION PROGRAMME ON “NATIONAL SOCIAL SAFETY-NETS PROJECT (NASSP)
In line with government directives vis-a-vis identifying vulnerable and poor in remote communities in which Kosofe Local Government in conjunction with Lagos State Ministry of Economic Planning and Budget earlier held a Stakeholders Sensitization Forum on the Implementation of National Social Safety-Nets Project (NASSP) at the Council Hall, pre - sensitization and sensitization has now fully commenced across Community Development Areas of the Local Government. Which we commence from oworo ward A and B from Friday 16th of october 2020.
In a long discussion with Baales and CDA's Chairmen during the Pre-Sensitization visits, the coordinator Mrs Seun Siwoniku, and Kosofe local government team leader, Mr. Felix Dele emphasized and called for the support of each head in the Communities to urge various indigents that are qualified for these programme to be available on ground for data capture.
"Just like our people have always come to the Office through visitations and in other regards, we have also created precious time to visit remote areas of our Communities.”
"This programme is being brought to our various communities from Kosofe Local Government in conjunction with Lagos State to sensitize the people. Under their directives, we are here to collate and register names of vulnerable and poor indigents in the Communities. Most especially, those people who need serious support to make living; Widows and widowers, old age men and women the sick, disable, unemployed and orphans who have lost their parents. This support programme is coming because government understand it variably difficult for such persons living in the Communities. So we have come to intercede for the support of our mothers and fathers to urge people at the local levels so as to make details and attendance available for the programme"
Due to the time frame, we urge all to be available from household to household. This will ease in compiling comprehensive data of all vulnerables and poor in the various Communities."
