Motorcycle unions' leaders embarked on joint task force exercise to enforce government's order

The leadership of motorcycle unions in Ogun State, having set up a joint task force committee, stormed Abeokuta north and south respectively to enforce the "no sales of branch and unit stickers and bookings" order as recently announced by the State government.

The committee, which was spearheaded by State chairmen of the unions; ACOM Kayode Amos Showunmi (State Chairman, ACOMORAN),  Otunba Nurudeen Alowonle (State Chairman, AMORAN) and Alhaji Rasaq Olusola Shotayo 'SHOLEBO' (State Chairman, ROMO) had a one to one engagement with the riders to convey the message to them and also issued stern warning to those involved in the printing and sales of fake tickets. The committee equally took time to sensitize ticket sellers on how to diligently discharge their duties.

When interviewed, the Publicity Secretary of the Articulate Motorcycle Owners and Riders Association of Nigeria (AMORAN), Otunba Taofeek Sokoya stated that the decision was imperative to take, following the lamentations of commercial riders.

"I wish to reiterate that the Almighty God has blessed Ogun State with a listening Governor who is mostly pressed by the plights of his people.

Having gone through the demands of the commercial riders, he ordered that the sales of branch and unit stickers and bookings be placed on hold until further notice. This is the message we have brought to our people and we are doing this to ensure full compliance",  he said.
