HON. SOFOLA DISTRIBUTES CACOVID PALLIATIVES TO KOSOFE YOUTHS, COMMUNITY DEVELOPMENT MEMBERS
The Executive Chairman of Kosofe Local Government, Hon. Afolabi Sofola has distributed sealed bags of CACOVID PALLIATIVES to Youths and Community members across Kosofe local government.
The Palliatives as distributed at the Council through the CDC Chairman, Hon. Segun Babatunde took place today, 2nd November, 2020. This is an unprecedented effort in conjunction with the State government to assist vulnerables in the local government areas.
The CDC Chairman, Hon. Segun Babatunde in a brief chat with the media appreciated Lagos State Governor, Babajide Sanwoolu who made the Palliatives available for vulnerables, youths and members of the community.
He addressed the question posed by many saying the Palliative packages are just for the Youths. According to him, the huge support from the State government is being enjoyed by the youths and all members of communities in Kosofe Local Government:
Hon. Segun Babatunde -CDC Chairman, Kosofe Local Government said  "about Three weeks ago, the governor sent Palliatives to us in kosofe Local Government which we distributed to all the vulnerables, and the youths within the communities. This time around again, Mr. Governor deemed it fit , he has given us another set of Palliatives for members of the communities. He has done very well and we want to thank him for carrying the CDA members into consideration. He has considered us and we have started distributing these to the vulnerables in the various communities. So we really appreciate the governor for the Palliatives." 

''This Palliatives are for the youths and members of the community, this is not political. It is purely community affairs. As you can see, so many bags of the Palliatives were given to the youths and members of the communities in Kosofe Local Government through their leaders from all the political Wards.
In crediting the contribution of the Council's boss, the CDC chairman acknowledged and emphasized his unending support across the communities:

"The Executive Chairman of Kosofe Local Government, Hon. Afolabi Sofola has performed creditably well, he has been able to support us having also distributed stationeries to the youths and vulnerable members of the communities. 
One of the Youths representatives of Kosofe LG -Sunday Folowosele commended the government at various levels for the great support. In his words:
"This is to help our community, because people have been clamouring the suffering in the face of the Government. But this is just to show that life is becoming easier, so the Government is making them realize the Palliatives are for the people not the Government Officials. So this shows the executives are ready to carry the people along. Hon. Sofola has continued to do more empowerment for the Youths and we really appreciate his kind moves."

Sofola Distributes Sanwo- Olu's  Food Palliative Packs to  Tradesmen, Artisans in Kosofe Local Government In a bid to mitigate against the impact of Coronavirus pandemic on the informal sector in Lagos State, the Executive Chairman Kosofe Local Government, Hon. Afolabi Sofola ably represented by the Supervisor for Agriculture, Youth, Rural and Social Development, Hon. Oyeyemi Oyetayo assisted by CDC Chairman,. Hon. Segun Babatunde yesterday distributed food palliatives packs to members of Lagos State Council ofTradesmen and Artisans in Kosofe Local Government, undertaken by the Lagos State Government. The distribution of the food palliative packs which comprises of sacks of stable foods, packs of Noddles was distributed to the recipients at the council premises. The Executive Chairman, Hon. Afolabi Sofola showered encomium on the Lagos State Governor, Mr. Jide Sanwo-olu for the kind gestures.

FUEL SUBSIDY: HOW GOVT CAN SHOW  KINDNESS. So much debates are in the public space with respect to the Federal Government/NNPCL announcement of removal of subsidy on Premium Motor Spirit (PMS). While some welcome the idea, some condemned it - not even at this time. This idea of removal of the subsidy to the large extent will be of great advantage - provided Government can be truthful in redirecting the funds into the economy sectors that less privileged ones can benefit greatly. I may not dabble into the whole subsidy removal in this post. However, I have one advice for Government, especially, Lagos State, that everyone is currently feeling the heat of the impromptu announcement which has the tendency to affect the cost of living. I want to urge Gov. Babajide Sanwo-Olu to help cushion the effects of the increase on PMS by reducing the BRT Fair, not only that, additional BRT buses should be released into Lagos transport sector.
